Happy Thursday my ForevaBlack family, I am always happy to write to you guys. You know that here, your mental health means the world to me. ForevaBlack is a space where we encourage, we cover each other, we uplift one another; a true safe space. Let’s talk about something that is amazing... having your mind anchored in Him. Keeping your mind on God, and not on the chaos around you will change your life. God knows our end and our beginning, why worry your mind with something God already has in His hands? The scripture Philippians 4:6-7 tells us to not worry about anything, instead pray about EVERYTHING.
I know firsthand what it means when someone says, “the mind is like a battlefield”, because that is exactly what it felt. Feeling helpless, hopeless, confusion, overwhelmed, and anxiety. For some time, I felt these things, and it was hard to shake off. I had to cry sometimes, most times, but I prayed. Even if it was just saying “Jesus, help me.” or when my tears had to be my words of my prayer... but Jesus understood every word. God covered my mind; He covered me when I wasn’t praying enough to cover myself.
Little by little, God reminded me I didn’t carry all this weight on my own, matter of fact, at all. Through his WORD, it calmed my mind. The Bible is a beautiful book; it speaks to any situation you may be going through. The Bible has the answers to every obstacle in our life, and how to maneuver through it. Now, this doesn’t mean the storm is just completely over, but you will stop sinking. As long as you hold onto the Anchor, He will never let you down.
I know the enemy will try to sneak in – telling lies, causing confusion, planting anxiety and depression, and trying to make us feel like we are losing our mind. He loves attacking the mind, he feels like if he can disturb your peace, he can disturb your purpose. But we rebuke that. God has cancelled that, but you have to keep your mind on Him. Our mental health will bloom and flourish. We will be in our right mind. Our thoughts with align with the truth of God – because he is a mind regulator.” When the enemy speaks, do NOT entertain it. Silence him with God’s truth. Philippians 2:5 “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.” We are anchored. We are covered. We are at peace. TRUE peace, the peace of God.
If your mind has been on nonstop lately, and heavy – run to God. Allow God to heal you and cover your mind. But know that God is already fighting on your behalf, and He is holding you. Your mind is not too messy or too complicated for Him, nothing is too big or too small for Him. Your mental battles aren’t too heavy for Him. And that peace you’re looking for? It isn’t lost; it’s waiting on you to return to The Anchor.
Let today be the day you say “God, I can’t do this on my own. Help me. Anchor my mind in You.” He will answer. He who seeks Him find Him, if they seek with all their heart. And when He holds your mind, no more storms will sink you. I love you my ForevaBlack family. Talk to you next time.
