ForevaBlack family, sometimes we need to hit to pause button on our life and the people in it. Let me break that down for you; yes, I know we cannot pause our life, because life moves on, but we can take a break (PAUSE). Take a break, pour back into you and take some time away from the noise in your life. Taking a break and getting rest isn’t you being lazy, it’s you paying attention to the needs of you. I used to think focusing on me was so selfish, but these past two months that is what I’ve needed and have been doing. Pushing the pause button on always putting others first and deciding to focus on what I need.
Life can be so heavy sometimes and people don’t always understand. Sometimes, we need to just enter into a quiet space with God and ask for His help and strength. His help to keep your mind in perfect peace, the strength to be able to wake up and face the day. Even Jesus pressed the pause button and took some time away, Luke 5:16 says “But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.” Jesus needed time away from the noise, he needed to recharge, and He did that by going to God and having alone time with Him. If Jesus did it, why do we feel like we can’t do the same thing?
Pour into you. You can’t fill someone else’s cup if yours is empty or if it has holes in the bottom. The holes in the bottom are the struggles we have been going through, the pain, the grief, and all the trauma. We allow so much to pile up, that now we’re just wasting everywhere and sometimes on other people. Which is why a break, a pause is needed; you don’t need to waste your pain on others. Heal, do the work, center God in the middle of your pain.
I'll leave you with this verse right here, Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Jesus knows how heavy life can get, and how it feels to feel burdened... but the beauty in that is that we don’t have to carry our burdens, we can give them over to Him. It's a gift that came when He died for us. So, rest on today, take that pause; the people who love you will understand. God wants us to rest; it renews our strength and know that you won’t be behind... you’re just following His pace and path. I love you all.
