Who Will You Believe?

You know a lot of people think that that the enemy can’t play with our minds, but that’s not true. Sometimes we feed into his lies so much we begin to actually believe them, but who we need to believe is God. In our sins and pain, God calls us by our name, but the enemy tries to identify us by our sins. God is aware of our sins and still loves us and doesn’t fill us with shame and guilt, but the enemy will.

Isaiah 43:1 “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.” God even changed Saul into Paul, that is a reminder that He speaks to our purpose, and not our past. Believing the enemy lies will have you wrestling with your mental, causing depression or anxiety. Isaiah 43:1 gives me peace because God sees us personally and intimately. The enemy tells you “You’re not good enough” or “you’re too far gone” and that is NOT true. Shame nor the devil has legal rights to us, only God – Jesus already carried our sins and punishment.

God loves us through our sin; He doesn’t wait until we’re “clean” for us to receive love. Romans 5:8 “But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” He steps in the mess with us; He is right there in the middle of our sin. Our dirty sins, God is with us... but guess what? The dirty sin doesn’t make God look at us as if we are dirty and unwanted. A lot of people feel like we have to fix ourselves quickly to enter the presence of God, but you can heal with God, it doesn’t have to be before Him and truthfully, we can’t truly heal without Him.

Ask yourself these questions: Who am I believing God or the enemy? What name has God been trying to give you but you’re ignoring? What would change if you believed God loves us in our struggle, and not just after it? If you’re struggling mentally or emotionally, I want you to know this: You’re not too much for God. And you’re not alone. Healing isn’t about perfection — it’s about permission to be human and let God walk with you.

You are not your past. Honestly, you’re not even your present. You’re His. In your sin, no matter what that may be; God still has the last say so and the authority to strip of us it. But you’ll never be stripped if you keep believing the enemy. He wants to disturb your mind, your peace, and joy.

I love you my ForevaBlack family, Jesus loves you more. Jesus died for YOU and for ME! He’s more than able to keep you in perfect peace, to speak life into us, and call us by the name He has given us. Same time next Thursday?
