The Beauty Beyond a Bad Day

ForevaBlack family, I hope life has been treating you all well... and even if you feel like it hasn’t, remember a bad day does not equal a bad life. A bad day is just for a moment, it’s never permanent. Life will always have its ups and downs, but we’re not supposed to let it beat us down. When life throws complications and mishaps our way, we tend to get discouraged and say our life is bad but in reality, that’s not true.  

Let me share a time where I thought I had a bad life; as a lot of you know, I lost my sister last September. When I lost my sister, I thought my world was over and that I would never come back from that... I thought this pain would overtake me. One day me and my dad were talking and reflecting on my sister, and he brought up a Facebook status she wrote, and it stated, “I don’t have bad days, I have bad moments.” And it relates to this topic because we never truly have bad days, just quick moments of when messed up things happen.  

God tells us in Psalm 30:5 that “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” God does not allow us to mourn for the rest of our life, just for a moment. Another scripture, John 16:33 “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” He’s reminding us that Jesus had hard times but overcame them all, and we have never seen or heard Jesus say he had a bad life.  

In our bad moments, we should take some time to rest and reset... we need to show ourselves the same grace we show others. Give your worries and bad moments to God, you don’t have to carry it alone. Speak life over your bad moments, defeat those lies the enemy may try to send by TRUTH that God sent to us through His word. Storms pass, moments are not forever... it is simply just a moment. God’s promises will always remain. 

I'll end with this question: What’s one way you can remind yourself that your bad moment is temporary? Remember, bad moment NOT bad life. I love you all, and don’t let life beat you down. Lord, remind us that our bad moments don’t define us. Give us strength to push through and joy to look forward to tomorrow. Amen. WE GOT THIS!
