Get Up and CREATE!

Did you know that we are all creators in one way or another? We come from the ultimate Creator: God.

To create means to bring something new into existence—whether that is an idea, an opportunity, a solution, a goal, art, content, or even the way we choose to live our lives. Every single day, we create, often without even realizing it.

But what if we chose to create intentionally? What if, instead of just existing, we got up every day and poured into something meaningful?

The three biggest things that hold us back from creating are fear, perfectionism, and pain.

Fear tries to convince you that you have nothing meaningful to say, or that you have made too many mistakes to be used as a voice for someone else. Fear pushes back faith, and faith is exactly what you need when putting out what God created you to produce. Faith gives you the courage to create with confidence, trusting that God will help you bring that creation to life the way He intended.

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” — 2 Timothy 1:7

Perfectionism tells us everything has to be flawless before we begin. But we are human, and nothing we do in life will ever be perfect. We allow perfectionism to control us because we become afraid of what others may think or say. We wonder:
“What if they don’t like it?”
“What if they talk about me?”

But people are going to talk anyway. So what should you do anyway?

GET UP AND CREATE!

Pain can also become a barrier when it is time to create. Sometimes we become so exhausted, hurt, or disappointed that we shut down and isolate ourselves. But often, the most meaningful creations are born in moments of pressure and pain. Those are the moments where you pour your heart into what you create, and it becomes something others can truly relate to.

At the end of the day, it all boils down to one thing: God gave each of us something to create, build, or produce. Whether it is art, content, music, ideas, business, writing, or something that may seem small to others, it still matters. God placed creators on this earth for a reason.

“We are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.” — Ephesians 2:10

So stop waiting.
Stop doubting.
Stop overthinking.

Get up and CREATE.
